On October 8–9, representatives from the Institute of Animal Biology of the NAAS -Scientific Secretary Andrii Pylypets, Head of the Immunology Laboratory Professor Oleh Vishchur, and researchers Yelyzaveta Fedorovych (Corresponding Member of the NAAS), Yaroslav Lesyk (Doctor of Veterinary Sciences), and Ruslan Androshulik (PhD)—participated in the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Climate Change and Its Consequences for Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine: Scientific Approaches and Innovative Solutions." The event was held at the Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies of Lviv and was co-organized by the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the NAAS and Podillia State University. Participants included representatives from research institutions, higher education establishments, government bodies, the veterinary sector, and the agricultural industry, who gathered to discuss the impact of climate change on animal husbandry—specifically regarding animal productivity, herd health, disease prevalence, feed resources, and the economic sustainability of farms.

Climate change presents new challenges for the industry that require a comprehensive scientific approach. Adapting animal housing and feeding conditions, preventing heat stress, and improving preventive measures are becoming increasingly important for maintaining herd health and productivity. For the Institute’s researchers, participation in the conference offers an opportunity to exchange experience with colleagues, discuss current research directions, and strengthen cooperation among research institutions, universities, and industry representatives. Such professional dialogue helps align research findings with the practical needs of livestock farms and serves as a crucial prerequisite for developing effective solutions to adapt livestock farming to climate change, enhance the agricultural sector's resilience, and ensure food security.
