• Development of DNA technologies for livestock typing based on genes controlling economically valuable and biological traits.
• Identification of molecular markers for the implementation of Marker-Assisted Selection (MAS).
• Genetic monitoring of selection processes.
• PCR diagnostics of infectious diseases in animals.
Technical Skills
Expertise in molecular genetic analysis techniques, including:
• Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism (PCR-RFLP), Real-Time PCR, and Microsatellite analysis.
• Various DNA extraction protocols and separation of amplified DNA fragments via electrophoresis (native and denaturing conditions).
• Immunoblotting and Lectin-blotting analysis.
• PCR primer design and optimization of amplification conditions.
• Cross-species experience: Research involving humans, domestic and wild pigs, moose, red deer, and various plant species and microorganisms.
